Videos that have emerged show Dilip Ghosh being surrounded by protesters chanting slogans while his security personnel struggle to shield him. The security personnel were then seen pulling out their guns to protect Ghosh.

Dilip Ghosh has demanded the postponement of the Bhabanipur bypoll stating a fair election isn't possible under these circumstances. Addressing a press conference he said the Election Commission was informed but it has not taken any action.

TMC has hit out at the BJP questioning how ‘could a gun be aimed at public in broad daylight?’ and accused the opposition party of ‘blatant violation of human rights’.
