24 of the BJP's 74 MLAs in West Bengal skipped a meeting of leader of opposition Suvendu Adhikari's with Governor Jagdeep Dhankar sparking off speculation of further migration from the saffron camp to the Trinamool.
Reports said that BJP several MLAs are upset with Adhikari's growing clout in the BJP and some are indeed in touch with the Trinamool. Former BJP vice-president Mukul Roy's switch back to the TMC has raised speculation of a mass exodus out of the BJP.
Adhikari told news agency ANI that action under anti-defection law will be taken against the MLA if they switch to the Trinamool Congress.
A number of turncoats, who had joined the BJP ahead of the polls, are reportedly lining up for ghar wapasi into the Mamata's party after its stunning win. Many have even apologised for switching to the BJP.
