Prime Minister Narendra Modi called the Governor of West Bengal over the political violence in the state and deteriorating law and order following the declaration of election results on May 2. Governor Jagdeep Dhankar on Tuesday tweeted to inform that the Prime Minister has expressed "serious anguish and concern at alarmingly worrisome law and order situation". He tagged TMC supremo and CM Mamata Banerjee and shared grave concern in the wake of the ‘violence vandalism, arson, loot and killings’ that continue unabated. He called for immediate action to restore order in the state.
