English all-rounder Ben Stokes on Saturday said that he was hoping his operated left index finger would not bother him in the upcoming Test series against India, which is due to start from August 4.
The cricketer revealed in an article posted in Daily Mirror that he played the 3 match ODI series against Pakistan with 'ridiculous pain' in his finger that forced him to take pain-killing steroid injection.
Stokes had fractured his finger in this year's IPL while he was playing for Rajasthan Royals. He was not supposed to take part in the Pakistan series, but he was handed the captaincy duty last minute after several members from the England team tested positive for Covid-19.
