At least 24 Covid-19 patients dead at Nashik hospital due to interrupted oxygen supply

At least 24 patients died on Wednesday due to interrupted supply of oxygen at a civic hospital for Covid-19 patients in Maharashtra's Nashik, Mayor Satish Kulkarni said. 

The deaths took place following the leakage from an oxygen storage plant at the Zakir Hussain municipal hospital.

The patients were on ventilators as well as on oxygen supply, which got interrupted after the leakage in the oxygen supply tank.

The mayor has given a clean chit to municipal corporatation and said that a high-level committee has set up to probe the matter.

Maharashtra govt has also launched a probe into the incident.
