Sunil Bharti backed Bharti Airtel  has entered into a strategic partnership with Tata Group for 5G network solutions taking on Mukesh Ambani's Jio's aggressive 5G plan head on.

Airtel plans to deploy Open-RAN-based 5G radio and core solutions, which has been developed by TCS for the 5G rollout looking to make a pilot run in January 2022. By partnering with software giant Tata, Airtel hopes to quash the Jio 'Made In India' 5G campaign by also using locally developed network solutions.
