India is planning to do a tit-for-tat on European Union that is reluctant to accept India-made Covid vaccine certificates.

'Reports said that unless European Union accepts Covishield and Covaxin certificates, India will also not accept their certificates and would force people from EU to undergo mandatory 14-day quarantine on arrival in India.

New Delhi has categorically told European Union that Covishield and Covaxin must be notified in its digital Covid certificate, NDTV has reported quoting government sources.

The EU countries accept only the vaccines approved by the European Medicines Agency, which are Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca, and Janssen. But Covishield, which is the Indian version of AstraZeneca, is yet to get their clearance.

Serum Institute reportedly has applied for EU's nod for Covishield through its European partner, AstraZeneca.
