One in every five hospitalised Covid-19 patients reported hair loss within six months of being infected with Covid-19, a new study shows.
A team of Chinese experts studied patients discharged last year from a hospital in Wuhan, the place where the pandemic originated. Of the 1655 participants, 22% reported hair loss while many others said they experienced muscle weakness, anxiety, smell disorder and sleeping difficulty among other symptoms.
A higher percentage of women reported these symptoms compared to men, the study claimed. While the long-term health consequences of Covid-19 remain unclear, the study published in The Lancet also found that most patients had at least one symptom after 6 months.
