A new report by market analysis firm Canalys says that smartphone shipments in India fell by 5% in Q3 2021, mainly due to supply issues in low-end models.

The firm also reported that Xiaomi led the Indian market with 24% market share, while Samsung came in second with 19% market share. Vivo, Realme, and Oppo rounded out the top 5.

The firm mentioned that supply constraints will continue to affect low-end smartphone models, as high component and logistics costs, along with shortages, will continue into the fourth quarter of 2021.

Brands have been forced to use promotions to make their higher-end models more appealing, they said.
