The seven-day temporary truce in the Israel-Hamas has expired. There was no word from mediator Qatar on an extension. Israel has claimed that just before the truce ended, it intercepted a rocket fired from Gaza.

The Israeli military said sirens warning of rockets were sounded again in areas near Gaza.

There was no immediate comment from Hamas or claim of responsibility for the launches.

On the other hand, Hamas-affiliated media reported sounds of explosions and gunfire in the north of the Palestinian enclave.

During the truce, more than 100 hostages were released from Gaza in exchange for 240 Palestinians freed from Israeli prisons.
