A woman in Germany has been arrested for allegedly switching off ventilator of a co-patient after she apparently found its sound annoying.
The 72-year-old accused has been booked on suspicion of attempted manslaughter.
The incident has been reported from a hospital in Germany’s Mannheim city.
Police said the woman apparently switched off the ventilator despite knowing patient’s condition and being told by hospital staff to refrain from anything that would jeopardize a life.
The accused, as per the Guardian, allegedly switched off the device twice and the victim had to be revived.
Victim's condition is said to be stable but continues to require intensive care, The Guardian added.
