Brazil's former President Jair Bolsonaro reacted to violence at government buildings after his supporters were accused of storming into and vandalising the presidential palace, the Supreme Court, and the Congress.

Bolsonaro said allegations that he incited the violence were "baseless". He also condemned the "pillaging and invasion" of public buildings. Bolsonaro is currently in USA's Florida.

Earlier, Brazil's incumbent President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva had said that Bolsonaro encouraged the uprising.

Bolsonaro's alleged supporters attacked government buildings over the belief that his defeat in the recent polls was due to election fraud.
