Artificial Intelligence is the flavour of the season and now it has generated yet another headline. AI, the abbreviation of artificial intelligence has been named the Word of the Year 2023 by the Collins Dictionary. This announcement came in on Tuesday, October 31.

Collins Dictionary's managing director Alex Beecroft talked about this and said, "We know that AI has been a big focus this year in the way that it has developed and has quickly become as ubiquitous and embedded in our lives as email, streaming or any other once futuristic, now everyday technology."

Lexicographers at Collins Dictionary said that the use of the term AI has accelerated and it has become the dominant conversation of 2023.

Other words that Collins Dictionary added are "nepo baby," which garnered massive popularity lately as it is used to describe the children of celebrities who have succeeded in industries similar to those of their parents.

Terms like, "deinfluencing," "Greedflation," and "Ulez", among others were added to the list.
