World Heart Day : As per the World Health Organisation(WHO), cardiovascular diseases (CVD) are one of the major causes of death worldwide. CVD claims around 17.9 million lives every year. Approximately four out of five CVD deaths occur due to strokes and heart attacks.

Observed on 29th September each year, World Heart Day aims at educating people about cardiovascular diseases and how it continues to take numerous lives.
As highlighted by the World Heart Federation, taking control of risk factors such as smoking, unhealthy diet and lack of physical activity can help avoid 80 percent of premature deaths from heart diseases and strokes.

The day aims at encouraging people to use their hearts to connect with their health and come together in the fight against CVD. Identifying the ones who are at risk can help prevent fatalities, especially premature deaths.
Using the digital world for awareness creation and propagation of prevention methods is the goal of World Heart Day.
