According to a report in the blog WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is working on a feature that will automatically transcribe voice recordings.
The feature will, however, only be available to iOS users at first.
The report says that WhatsApp was initially considering using a third-party app for integrating the feature, but has now decided to develop its own in-house transcription solution.

The feature is currently in development, and should roll out to beta users in the coming months, before becoming available to all iOS users.
