We're polluting the cities, but also inviting more migratory birds

If you're in Mumbai around this time, it might be the perfect time for you to spot flamingos flocking the Thane Creek in multitudes. Incidentally, this year seems to have invited thrice as many of these birds as they migrate to their natural habitat to feed. According a report in The Guardian, Mumbai's rising industrial pollution and sewage output are plausible reasons, as it has led to a rise in the blue-green algae that the flamingos feed on. While it's a sight you wouldn't want to miss, it also puts the onus on us to conserve this habitat for the coming years.
