A leopard cub was rescued from Mumbai's Aarey area as it got separated from its mother during rain. The cub was spotted walking in the rain and trying to enter a tin shed for shelter.

Some people on seeing the leopard cub called in a group of animal rescuers. They picked up the cub and took it to safety.

Later visuals posted on social media show animal rescue staff holding the cub wrapped in a warm blanket. Locals said some police officers also came to offer help and coordinate the rescue.

Aarey is a vast swathe of green in Mumbai and home to a wide variety of animals and birds. It was declared a forest after massive protests against the proposed construction of a Metro crashed. It is one of the last few remaining green spaces in Mumbai.
