An earthmover had to be called in to clear around 20 tonnes of tomatoes that were scattered on the Eastern Express Highway, in Maharashtra's Thane.
The tomatoes fell on the stretch early on Friday when a truck carrying them overturned after the driver lost control over the wheels amidst heavy rainfall.
The highway is one of the busiest in the Mumbai Metropolitan Area. The tomato spill caused a huge traffic jam in Thane.
A video shared by news agency ANI showed the earthmover removing the crates of tomatoes from the highway and dumping them outside the sidewalls.
