Indian Olympic Association President Narinder Batra has written to Sports Ministry requesting them to do away with the mandatory requirement of a negative RT-PCR test for Indian sportspersons and officials returning from the Tokyo Olympics. He wrote that they should be allowed to enter the country without test reports as long as they have accreditation cards.
Currently, anyone travelling to India from abroad has to carry a negative RT-PCR Test for Covid-19.
IOA also urged the Indian govt to request the Japanese govt to let the members of India's Tokyo Games contingent to board flights from Japan to India without Covid-19 tests.
