Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday addressed a rally in Purulia ahead of the West Bengal Assembly elections 2021 and came down hard at Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress and accused it of supporting Maoists.

Addressing a massive rally, PM Modi attacked Banerjee's 'khela hobe' slogan by saying, while Didi says 'Khela hobe', BJP promised development, education, health, employment.

"Didi bole khela hobe, BJP bole chaakri hobe. Didi bole khela hobe, BJP bole vikas hobe. Didi bole khela hobe, BJP bole shiksha hobe....Khela shesh hobe, vikas aarambh hobe.", said the PM.

PM Modi accused the Mamata government of playing politics of appeasement, saying that the TMC will be punished for 10 years of misrule.
"TMC is 'Transfer My Commission', BJP believes in DBT, 'Direct Benefit Transfer', said PM Modi

The prime minister's rally in Bengal comes a day after Mamata Banerjee released her party’s election manifesto, promising 5 lakh jobs per year, ₹10,000 pa to farmers and cheaper loans to students.
