The US authorities on Sunday blocked part of the Texas border as the country began mass expulsion of thousands of Haitian migrants, camped near the border.
The American officials have decided to fly 12,000 migrants back to their homeland. Since Friday the US authorities, who have announced a daily flight to the Haitian capital Port-au-Prince, have already moved 3,300 migrants from Del Rio and Texas. While 3 flights arrived in Port-au-Prince on Sunday, Haiti officials expect 6 more flights on Tuesday.
This could be one of America's swiftest large-scale expulsion of migrants in decades. Despite the efforts, Haitian immigrants were still trying to enter the U.S. by crossing a river. However, they were stopped by the border officials and were eventually sent back.
