The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Thursday postponed the civil services preliminary examination in wake of the alarming COVID situation. A statement issued by the commission said the exam scheduled to be held on June 25 will now be conducted on October 10.
The commission conducts civil services examination annually in three stages - preliminary, main and interview to select officers of Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS) and Indian Police Service (IPS) among others.
After two days of slight decline, active Covid-19 cases again increased on Thursday. India recorded 3.62 lakh fresh cases and 4,120 deaths in 24 hours.
