In a mega show of strength in Meerut, Samajwadi Party and Rashtriya Lok Dal held first joint rally for the upcoming state elections in Uttar Pradesh.
Both, SP's Akhilesh Yadav and RLD's Jayant Chaudhary took potshots at the BJP as they formally announced their alliance for the polls.
Akhilesh Yadav said that the coming elections with ensure that BJP's sun sets in West India.

Reportedly, this is the first rally being held in West UP since the contentious farm laws were repealed by the Modi govt.
While the SP chief hailed the movement against laws as farmers' revolution, Jayant Chaudhary said that if voted to power the SP-RLD govt will build a memorial for farmers who died during the agitation.
