The UP Police have booked Twitter India chief Manish Maheshwari in connection with the social media platform carrying a wrong map of India on its website, news agency ANI reported on Tuesday. The FIR was registered on the complaint of a Bajrang Dal leader in Bulandsahr.

The case relates to a wrong map of India on Twitter website that showed Jammu & Kashmir, and Ladakh, as a separate country. The map triggered outrage and Twitter got rid of it on late Monday night.

Twitter is involved in a face-off with the government of India over compliance with the new IT rules.

This is the second case against its India chief by the UP Police. Maheshwari has also been booked in the case related to the video of assault on a elderly Muslim man.
