Unvaccinated Murali Vijay unavailable for selection, refrains from following BCCI's SOPs

Murali Vijay, Tamil Nadu's star opener is not featuring in this year's Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy which started last month. The Times of India quoting sources reported that the 37-year-old cricketer who is yet to receive his Covid-19 vaccination wasn't very keen on staying in the bio-bubble as well. As per the BCCI SOPs, the player has to remain with the bio-bubble along with their teammates from one week before the start straight to the end of the tournament.

Vijay who, however, was a part of 2020 IPL and also stayed in the Bio-bubble in UAE, has now made himself unavailable for selection. He was also not a part of this year's IPL.

He last played for Tamil Nadu in 2019 during a Ranji Trophy match against Kerala.
