Two minors allegedly killed in South Salmara, one person arrested

Tension gripped at the Berabhanga village under Sukchar police station in South Salmara-Mankachar district on Thursday following the recovery of bodies of two minors.

Following the incident, Sukchar police have arrested one person on Monday.

The person has been identified as Aliul Islam. He surrendered himself at the police station. Police team in search of other two accused.

Local people at the village alleged that both the minors were killed by Aliul Islam over a trivial issue. Sources informed that Enamul Hussain’s children who are said to allegedly killed by Aliul who were driving out their goat which entered the residence of Aliul Islam.

Following the incident, Aliul allegedly attacked both the minors and choked both the siblings to death and made an attempt to throw their bodies in the river Brahmaputra, claimed the sources.

Speaking to the media, police said, "We have arrested Aliul Islam in connection with the two minors murder case at South Salmara. An investigation is going on. Police team in search of other two accused. Earlier, he was escaped from the spot. But we have arrested him."
