TSMC approves $2.89 billion plan to expand capacity amid global chip shortage

Chipmaker TSMC has reportedly approved a $2.89 billion spending plan to expand its manufacturing capacity amid the ongoing global chip shortage. TSMC had previously said that despite expanding manufacturing the chip shortage will continue into 2022. The world's largest contract chipmaker has clients that include the likes of tech giants Apple and Qualcomm.
