The Bombay High Court on Tuesday granted bail to former CEO of TV ratings agency Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) Partho Dasgupta, who was arrested for his alleged involvement in the TRP Scam. Dasgupta was arrested on December 24 on charges of criminal breach of trust and cheating. The court has ordered Dasgupta to submit his passport before the court and appear before the Crime Branch every month for a period of 6 months. Dasgupta, who was BARC's CEO between June 2013 to November 2019, has been accused of receiving $12,000 and Rs. 40 lakh cash from Republic TV Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami for manipulating TRPs for his channel.
