Boxer Satish Kumar's hopes of securing an Olympic medal for India came crashing down on Sunday as he went down 0-5 against World No 1 Bakhodir Jalolov of Uzbekistan in the quarterfinals.

Odds were stacked against Satish and his participation was in doubt till a few hours before the bout as he had stitches above his right eye. Despite that, Satish fought hard but the reigning world champion proved too tough for him.

Satish was the First Indian boxer to qualify for the Tokyo Olympics in Super heavyweight category and was just a win away from securing a medal.
