Ever the businesswoman, actor Priyanka Chopra recently turned restauranteur by opening her first dining joint in New York City. The actor, author and producer’s Indian restaurant SONA officially opened for dining on March 27, earlier this year. Since then, Chopra has shared glimpses of the restaurant’s décor and menu with her insta-fam.
SONA’s chef Hari Nayak has designed quite the menu and here’s what you can expect to eat if you’ve ever in the neighbourhood.
Chef Nayak’s bhel is made with super grain buckwheat along with fenugreek sprouts and raw mango.
Far beyond basic, the samosa at SONA features spinach and goat cheese with a special dip on the side.
In a grown-up twist, SONA’s gol gappas are served with avocados and a shot of tequila.
And the gajar ka halwa is a deconstructed carrot cake with a pistachio crumb and frozen yogurt on the side.
Another dessert on the menu, chef Nayak’s ghevar sits pretty on a poached rhubarb and rose concoction.
For seafood lovers, he’s serving green garlic butter roasted oysters, ghee roast octopus and ceviche solkadi.
