Elon Musk has announced that Twitter will take a 10% cut on content subscriptions after the first year, while the company's cut from subscriptions on iOS and Android platforms will drop from 30% in the first year to 15% in the second. This move comes after Musk previously stated that Twitter users could offer subscriptions without the company taking a cut for the first year, with the aim of diversifying Twitter's revenue sources after advertising income decreased. Furthermore, Musk has taken steps to prioritise the verification process for blue tick verified accounts on Twitter. These changes are part of Musk's plan to improve Twitter's financial performance and user experience, with the blue tick serving as a way to protect well-known individuals from impersonation and tackle false information.
