Apple has taken quick action to address the overheating complaints of iPhone 15 Pro users by releasing the iOS 17.0.3 update.

The company has attributed these issues to software bugs rather than any faults with the iPhone 15 Pro's design.

This move aims to provide important bug fixes, security updates, and specifically address the overheating problem that some users have been experiencing.

iOS 17.0.3 Release Notes and Installation

The new update, with the build number 21A360, can be installed by navigating to the Settings app, selecting General, and then choosing Software Update. This release is compatible with any iPhone capable of running iOS 17.

Apple's Statement on iOS 17.0.3

According to Apple, the iOS 17.0.3 update aims to fix bugs, enhance security, and primarily address the issue of iPhones running warmer than expected.

This acknowledgment opens the door to resolving an issue that has been a cause of concern among iPhone 15 Pro users.

Software Bugs Identified

Following the release of the iPhone 15 Pro, numerous users reported overheating and abnormally high temperatures.

To their credit, Apple quickly acknowledged the presence of a bug in iOS 17 that was impacting certain users' devices. With this software fix, Apple aims to rectify the overheating problem and improve user experience.

No Design Flaw Confirmed

Contrary to some reports suggesting that the titanium design of the iPhone 15 Pro was responsible for the overheating issues, Apple has assured users that design is not to blame.

In fact, Apple emphasised that the new titanium design enhances heat dissipation, providing better performance than previous iPhones with stainless steel components.

Third-Party Apps Overloading CPU

Apple also identified third-party apps such as Asphalt 9, Instagram, and Uber as potential culprits for overloading the iPhone's CPU and exacerbating the overheating issue.

While Instagram and Uber have already received updates via the App Store in recent days, Asphalt 9 is still awaiting an update.

User Feedback on iOS 17.0.3

Apple is keen to gather feedback from users regarding whether the iOS 17.0.3 update has resolved any overheating problems on their iPhones.

Users are encouraged to share their experiences in the comments section, and Apple will continue to monitor the situation closely.
