Haier has launched the In-Vista 5-Door Side-by-Side Refrigerator in India, a premium model designed for homeowners building or upgrading a modular kitchen. Priced at ₹2,59,990, the refrigerator combines a flush built-in design with separate temperature zones for different kinds of food storage.
The headline feature is Haier’s so-called Free Built-in Technology. Unlike conventional refrigerators that need ventilation space around their sides, the In-Vista shifts its heat-exchange system to the bottom. Haier says this allows it to sit against surrounding cabinetry with zero side gaps, creating the appearance of a built-in appliance without requiring a completely specialised installation.
The In-Vista comes in an Ornate Black, stone-textured finish and is designed to work as either a built-in or freestanding refrigerator. It uses a hydraulic hinge that opens to 113 degrees, along with an automatic closing mechanism that engages at 45 degrees.
Haier has also added sensor-activated lighting and 270-degree interior illumination. The emphasis here is as much on how the refrigerator looks in a premium kitchen as how it stores food.
“With the launch of the In-Vista, we are reimagining premium refrigeration with India’s only five-door built-in refrigerator, bringing a new level of luxury and functionality to modern Indian kitchens,” said NS Satish, CEO, Haier Appliances India.
The refrigerator uses a five-door, five-zone layout with 12 storage sections. These include a regular fridge zone, an MRA Fresh zone for fruit and vegetables, a convertible compartment, a freezer and a deep-freeze zone.
The 66-litre Magic Convertible Zone can operate between -20°C and +5°C, allowing it to be used as either fridge or freezer space depending on the household’s needs. The Deep Freeze Zone goes down to -30°C, while the main freezer operates from -14°C to -24°C.
Haier says its MRA Fresh drawer maintains humidity above 90 per cent in a sealed environment to slow oxidation and retain moisture in fruit and vegetables. The company claims two to six times better moisture retention, although that will naturally vary with the produce being stored.
The In-Vista supports Haier’s Master Smart app, through which users can track expiry cycles, get food-storage guidance, manage ice production and monitor the refrigerator’s sterilisation cycle. It also gets a separate automatic ice maker with Standard, Cyclic, Custom and Sleep modes.
Another feature is ABT Pro sterilisation, which Haier says runs an automated cleaning cycle approximately every hour across the refrigerator and freezer compartments.
The Haier In-Vista is now available on the company’s website and at retail outlets across the country. At ₹2.6 lakh, it is firmly a luxury appliance, but the built-in aesthetic and flexible five-zone storage make its target buyer rather clear.
