A popular screen recording app called iRecorder has been removed from the Google Play Store after it was found to contain malicious code. The app, which had been downloaded over 50,000 times, was first uploaded in September 2021 and was updated with malicious code in August 2022. The malicious code allows the app to steal data from users’ devices, including microphone recordings and files with specific extensions. Google has removed the app from the Play Store, but it is possible that it may still be available on third-party app stores. Users who have installed iRecorder should uninstall it immediately.
