Google Pay has announced the launch of new fraud detection tools to make digital payments more safe for consumers in India. During the Google for India event, the tech giant unveiled additional security measures for its UPI-based payment tool.
It will now employ multi-layered alerts to notify users of any questionable activity on their accounts. It has also released a number of other important features geared at customers in the nation, such as a big update to the Files by Google app, which will allow users to securely access their Digilocker documents on Android devices.
Machine learning is being used to detect fraudulent transactions on Google Pay. According to the Google, the software would evaluate the aggregate transaction patterns of millions of users and identify fraudulent or questionable payment requests.
It will display a warning message in the user's selected language. According to Google, the app will vibrate in some circumstances to catch users' attention.
In addition to this, Google Pay has also brought out a new tool allowing customers to readily see their transaction history by asking inquiries about their expenditures in their preffered language. They will be able to ask Google Pay natural language inquiries such as "Show me how much I spent on coffee last week".
