Google has said that it is rolling out toll price estimation for Maps users in India, along with those in US, Japan, and Indonesia. The app will now estimate the total toll price for a user’s destination, and thus help them to choose between a toll and non-toll route.
Toll prices will be available on iOS and Android for nearly 2,000 roads, and pricing information will be provided by local authorities.
Google said that Maps will estimate total toll cost for a trip based on factors like the cost of using a toll pass or other payment methods, the day of the week, and how much the toll is expected to cost at the specific time the user will be crossing it.

If users wish to avoid paying the toll amount, they can select the ‘avoid tolls’ option, which will recalculate a new route and avoid toll roads completely.
Google has also rolled out new updates for Maps on iOS, to make it easier to use with the iPhone and Apple Watch. There’s now a new pinned trip widget, direct navigation on Apple Watch, and Google Maps integration with Siri and Shortcuts.
