The much-awaited Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) is around the corner on June 6 and techies are buzzing with what can be expected from the Apple headquarters in Cupertino, California, United States.

Bloomberg reports that the iOS16 codenamed Sydney— will be revealed and it is a fairly significant upgrade. Leaks suggest expect to see new features like an upgraded lockscreen as well as updated first-party apps, including Messages and Health, updates to notifications, iPad multitasking features and more.

The lock screen which has been an 'after thought' is coming to the forefront for the tech major and reportedly Apple is planning major enhancements for the lock screen, including wallpapers that have widget-like capabilities.

Reportedly iOS 16 will include an updated Messages app with more “social networking-like functionality,” which may include some sort of update around audio messages.
