A new report claims that the rumoured augmented reality (AR) headset from Apple will have an M2 chip and 16GB of RAM.

These specifications would make it more powerful than Meta’s popular Oculus Quest 2.

The very same report also suggests that the device might be capable of delivering both AR and virtual reality (VR) experiences, which means it might be a mixed reality device.

Also worth noting is that the operating system for this headset might be called RealityOS. This name has been found in Apple's code and in a trademark application.

There are indications that Apple's headgear is nearing its projected January 2023 release date.

Recently in an interview, CEO Tim Cook indirectly hinted at Apple working on an AR headset. He also claimed that such a device is quite hard to develop due to numerous form factor-related challenges.
