Ahmed’s is a widespread sentiment...not only among the Afghan refugees in Delhi... but also in much of Afghanistan. These are scenes in Kabul. Taliban being welcomed, Ghani being flayed. Ahmed says they are caught between the devil and the deep sea.
In Delhi’s Bhogal and Lajpat Nagar, where most Afghan refugees live, there is dismay. With imminent Taliban takeover, the distance between Delhi and Kabul has widened further. Hear out Firdous, who has been Delhi for a month and is looking at a stateless future.

Most refugees have families in Afghanistan and with the Taliban takeover, their fears have only increased.
Nadeem, who is also from Kabul, says he told his family to come to India, but they refused to leave.
But Nadeem is among those few who could get in touch with his family, many Afghans in Delhi remain disconnected with their families in other provinces of Afghanistan.
