Tokyo Olympics gold medallist Neeraj Chopra arrived home to a rousing welcome on Tuesday. He was escorted by fans, media and the police in a road show towards Panipat and Neeraj looked pretty calm as he waved out to his supporters from the sunroof of a SUV.
The Tokyo Olympics gold medallist was happy for the fact that more kids now want to take up Javelin.
As he was on his way to his village, a feast for about 30,000 people was being prepared in Samalkha to welcome back Neeraj. His mother told ANI that they will keep his Gold medal in a temple.
Neeraj made history in Tokyo when he became the first Indian to bag a track and field medal at the Games and that too Gold.
