The Delhi Capitals on Thursday named Australia's multiple World Cup-winning skipper Meg Lanning as their captain for the Women's Premier League (WPL) 2023.

Lanning, who was bought by Delhi for ₹1.1 crore, recently led Australia to their third ICC Women's T20 World Cup title in a row. She was also the first cricketer to captain the team in 100 T20Is.

Apart from that, DC also appointed Jemimah Rodrigues as Lanning's deputy for the inaugural edition of the league.
