Wimbledon 2022: Novak Djokovic beats wildcard Tim van Rijthoven to reach quarter-finals

Top seed Novak Djokovic has reached the Wimbledon quarterfinals after beating Dutch wildcard Tim van Rijthoven in four sets on Centre Court.

The 104th-ranked Dutch player gave a tough fight to Djokovic in the second set which he won in 50 minutes. The defending champion though made a comeback and reached the last eight with a 6-2 4-6 6-1 6-2 victory.

With this win, the 35-year-old Serbian registered his 83rd victory at the Championships, his 25th successive win on the grass court.

6-time Wimbledon champion Djokovic will face Italy's 10th seed Jannik Sinner in the quarters.

The 20-time Grand slam winner is chasing his 4th consecutive Wimbledon title, his 7th overall at All England Club.
