In the latest revelation of Novak Djokovic's visa exemption controversy, the lawyers said that the Serbian was held for eight hours on arrival in Australia, mostly incommunicado.

In a federal court filing, Djokovic's lawyers said that he was given Covid-19 vaccine exemption as Novak tested positive for the virus in December.

The 20-time grand slam champion also requested to be moved to a facility where he can train for the Australian Open.

Djokovic's lawyers were seeking to overturn the cancellation of his Australia entry visa, saying that the Serb's first positive Covid PCR test was recorded on December 16, 2021.

Djokovic's appeal will be heard in court on Monday.
