Ahead of the Australian Open, the World number one Novak Djokovic is not expected to participate in the men's season-opening ATP Cup in Sydney.

Djokovic was included in Serbia's team for the ATP Cup but according to a Serbian newspaper, he won't travel to Sydney.

Serbia are in Group A alongside Norway, Chile, and Spain, in the ATP Cup, which will be played from January 1 to 9, just before the Australian Open begins on January 17.

Meanwhile, the participation of 20-time grand slam champion Djokovic in the Australian Open has not been confirmed yet given the organisers' mandate for compulsory Covid-19 vaccinations.

Notably, the Serbian tennis star has declined to disclose his vaccination status citing privacy.
