Novak Djokovic to begin 2023 Australian Open preparations at Adelaide International

With an eye on his record-extending 10th Australia Open title, World No.5 Novak Djokovic will open his 2023 campaign at the Adelaide International tennis tournament starting January 1

Since the Covid-19 restrictions have eased and the vaccination requirements to enter the country have also been relaxed, the Australian government granted the visa to the unvaccinated Serbian tennis star.

The 21-time grand slam champion had been facing a possible three-year ban after being deported on the eve of the 2022 Australian Open for his stance against Covid-19 vaccination.


35-year-old Djokovic has a record nine Australian Open titles in his name, including the last three times he played. In his absence, Rafael Nadal won the 2022 Australian Open title.
