Novak Djokovic reclaims World No. 1 spot; Aryna Sabalenka No. 2 in WTA

After a year of turbulence, Novak Djokovic, the Serbian Tennis superstar who had slipped to the 5th spot has reclaimed the top ATP rank. 

Djokovic's Australian Open win which helped him leapfrog 4 places is the largest jump to the top spot in the 50-year history of the computerized rankings for men's tennis. The 35-year-old who lifted his 10th Australian Open title and 22nd Grand Slam replaced Carlos Alcaraz from the top spot to enter the 374th week of leading the ATP rankings. His opponent in teh Aus Open finale, Stefanos Tsitsipas is No. 3 in the fresh rankings. 

Meanwhile, Aryna Sabalenka who won her first major title in Australia has moved up from No. 5 to a career-best-equaling No. 2 in the WTA rankings, behind only three-time major champion Iga Swiatek.
