A wrist discomfort did not deter Mirabai Chanu who went on to add another feather to her already illustrious cap by winning a silver at the World Weightlifting Championships.

Despite her wrist injury which she suffered during a training session in September, the ace Indian weightlifter won a silver medal at the World Championships with a total lift of 200kgs. The Tokyo Olympic silver medallist who was competing in the 49 kg category, managed to lift 87 kg in snatch and lifted 113 kg in clean and jerk with a bandaged wrist.
