Men's hockey groups announced for Paris Olympics; India in the group of death

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach and International Hockey Federation (FIH) President Tayyab Ikram unveiled the competition schedule for hockey at the Paris Olympics.

The schedule for the 2024 Games was announced at a ceremony held at the Olympic House in Lausanne on Wednesday.

India has been put in Group B along with Belgium, Australia, Argentina, New Zealand and Ireland. Many fans are referring it to as the group of death.

Group A has the Netherlands, Germany, Great Britain, Sapin, France and South Africa.

Both men’s and women’s hockey tournaments at Paris 2024 will get underway on 27 July. The first match of Hockey at Paris 2024 will be an all-European affair with Great Britain taking on Spain in the men’s Pool A match.

The women’s competition will begin on the same evening at 19:45 CEST with silver medalists from Tokyo 2020, Argentina, beginning their quest to go one step further this time, against the USA in the women’s Pool B encounter.
