FIH Pro League: Indian women's hockey team beat USA 4-0, finish 3rd in debut season

Ahead of the Women's Hockey World Cup, Indian women's hockey team's emphatic performance helped them finish in the third spot in their debut season of the FIH Pro League. The Savita Punia-led team defeated USA 4-0 in their second leg game in Rotterdam.The Indian team had earlier defeated the American side 4-2 in the first leg of the double header.

Janneke Schopmann's team dominated the USA all throughout the game, scoring 3 goals in a span of 4 minutes to seal the deal. While Vandana Katariya broke the deadlock in the 39th minute and hit another in the 54th minute, Sonita and Sangita Kumari scored a goal each in the 54th and 57th minute to make it 4-0.

Argentina won the FIH Pro League title and the Netherlands finished second. 

The Indian team will now participate in the Hockey World Cup which is set to begin from July 1st.
