While India won 2 gold and bronze on day 2 of the Asian Games, it also secured the first medal in Wushu as Roshibina Devi Naorem qualified for the 60kg semifinals by defeating Kazahk's Aiman Karshyga. Additionally, in the men's 60 kg Sanda event, Surya Bhanu Pratap Singh advanced to the quarterfinals by defeating Uzbekistan's Islombek Khaydarov with a score of 2-1. Unfortunately, Vikrant Balyan exited the men's 65 kg event after a loss to Indonesia's Samuel Marbun.
Shifting to boxing, Arundhati Choudhary faced disappointment, losing to the Chinese favorite Yang Liu in the Round of 16 with a 0-5 result. However, Deepak Bhoria began his Asian Games journey on a positive note, securing a unanimous 5-0 decision victory against Malaysia's Bin Ariffin in the 51kg category. Nishant Dev also emerged victorious in the men's 71 kg round of 32, defeating Nepal's Dipesh Lama with a convincing 5-0 win.
In the realm of chess, Arjun Erigaisi and Vidit Gujrathi showcased their skills in round 3 matches. Arjun triumphed over Vietnam's Ngoc Truong Son Nguyen, while Vidit overcame the challenge posed by Prin Laohawirapap of Thailand. Moving into round 4, Arjun played to a draw against Iran's Seyedmohammadamin Tabatabaei, and Vidit Gujrathi secured a victory against Vietnam's Tuan Minh Le.
Among the women players, Harika Dronavalli faced a tough opponent, world no. 1 Hou Yifan of China, resulting in a loss. Koneru Humpy, on the other hand, had a draw against China's Zhu Jiner. In round 4, Koneru Humpy suffered another defeat, this time against Hou Yifan. Meanwhile, Harika Dronavalli managed a draw in her match against Nilufar Yakubbaeva of Uzbekistan.
